"Eco" is a claim,
not a decoration.

Environmental claims have to be accurate and evidenced under consumer law. So we tell you which part of a product is recycled, which scheme certified it and what the rest is made of, instead of putting a leaf on the label and hoping.

What we sell

Four ranges, described honestly

Claims stated with their evidence, ingredients listed in full, and no product presented as a treatment.

How it works

How we describe things

State which part of a product a claim covers, name the certification scheme rather than implying one, publish ingredients in full, and never present a cosmetic as treating a condition.

Claims we can evidence

If we cannot show it, we do not write it.

Which part, and which scheme

Not "eco" across a product that is partly not.

Full ingredients published

Natural origin is not the same as gentle.

How we work

An online shop that qualifies its own claims

Her & Earth Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 11855603, based in London and trading since March 2019 as a retailer selling otherwise than in stores or markets, which is to say online and direct. We sell skincare and body care, household and everyday goods, refills, and gift sets.

Two rules decide how products are described here, and both come from the law rather than from marketing taste. Environmental claims must be accurate, substantiable and must not leave out information a customer needs, so we say which part of a product a claim covers and name the scheme when we cite a certification. And a cosmetic is not a medicine: a product presented as treating, curing or preventing a condition becomes a medicinal product requiring authorisation from the MHRA, so nothing here is offered on that basis, and our director's doctorate is not used to suggest any product works. Everything bought online carries a fourteen-day right to cancel, with the narrow exception the regulations allow for unsealed hygiene products.

Frequently asked

The questions we get most

Why don't you just call your products eco-friendly?

Because it would usually be inaccurate and it is the kind of claim consumer law now treats as misleading. A bottle can be recycled while its pump is not; a cloth can be organic cotton sewn with polyester. We say which part the claim covers so you can judge it. Vague green labelling is the thing the Competition and Markets Authority guidance was written to stop.

Will this clear up my eczema?

We cannot say that, and nobody selling cosmetics lawfully can. A product presented as treating, curing or preventing a condition is a medicine in UK law and needs authorisation from the MHRA. We can tell you what is in a product; for a skin condition, speak to a pharmacist or your GP.

Your director is a doctor. Does that mean the products are clinically proven?

No, and we are careful not to imply it. A professional qualification says nothing about whether a cosmetic works, and using one to suggest otherwise would be misleading. Judge the products on their ingredients, which we publish in full.

Is natural the same as safe for sensitive skin?

No. Essential oils and plant extracts are among the more common causes of irritation, and natural origin tells you nothing about how your skin will respond. Read the full ingredient list, patch test if you have a known allergy, and ask us if you are unsure before ordering.

Can I return something if I change my mind?

Yes. For anything bought online you have fourteen days from receiving it to cancel without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The one exception the regulations allow is sealed products unsuitable for return on hygiene grounds once they have been unsealed. That is separate from your rights if something is faulty, which the Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers.

Are refills always the greener option?

Not always, and we will tell you when they are not. A reusable container carries the impact of making it, which takes a number of refills to earn back. If you would only refill once or twice, the plain product may genuinely be the better choice, and selling you the reusable anyway would contradict the point of this shop.

Not sure whether something suits you?

Ask us about ingredients, materials or sourcing before you buy. No obligation.
